BZD’s Culture Committee brings the breadth and vitality of Israel to our community, from generation to generation.

It works towards this ambitious goal by bringing the sight, sound, touch, and even taste and smell of Israel to Baltimore. The Culture Committee sponsors Israeli artists and performers, music and food, literature and discussion, celebrations of holidays and ceremonies of remembrance.

While BZD believes that a full understanding of Israel must always include an appreciation of its artistic soul, the role of the Culture Committee is particularly important during times of conflict in the Middle East. The results of the Culture Committee’s programming remind us that Israel is much more than a news headline, and remains a thriving, evolving nation.
